MIDDLEBURG – All three commissioners in Snyder County have announced they will run for reelection this year, and a fourth candidate has entered the race. On Monday, Commissioner Peggy Chamberlain Roup announced she will be running again as a Democrat.
She will have a challenger in this election. Jury commissioner Naomi “Ruby” Hoffman will run against Peggy on the Democratic ticket. So far, incumbent Republicans Malcolm Derk and Joe Kantz, are running unopposed in their Republican primary. They were first elected in 2008. (Ali Stevens)
