February 28 marked twenty-five years since the end of the Gulf War, and commissioners felt it was time to remember the contribution of some of their constituents. Commissioner Trevor Finn delivered the resolution in recognition of the veterans.

“Now therefore be it resolved that we, the citizens of Montour County, recognize and hold in high regard our veterans of the Persian Gulf War. Be it further resolved that we exclaim in one voice, thank you!”

In other news, Chairman Ken Holdren says that, because of the state budget impasse, the county does not have the capital it needs to continue 911 consolidation with Columbia County.

“Until Governor Wolfe authorizes [Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency] to release the funds, were on hold”.

Holdren says it is important for the counties to move forward as they are the model for 911 consolidation in Pennsylvania. (Kory Kramer)
