NESCOPECK – About 500 chickens crossed the road in Luzerne County this morning–but some didn’t make it. State police say the chickens fell off the back of a truck on Interstate 80 early Thursday between the Mifflinville and Conyngham exits.
It took police and PennDOT workers about an hour to gather up the chickens and some were killed when the crates blew off the truck around 6:30 a.m. No lanes were closed while the chickens were being corralled. (Ali Stevens)
