Cats and a bird removed from a home near Trevorton

police lights FEATTREVORTON – The Pennsylvania SPCA searched a home near Trevorton Tuesday afternoon and removed several animals from the property.  The News Item reports 11 cats and a bird were taken around 3:30 p.m. from 439 Trevorton Road in Zerbe Township.

The animals are owned by 64-year-old Carol Ann Whary, who is incarcerated at the Snyder County Prison on a parole violation.  Animal cruelty charges are pending against Whary.

Whary was found not-guilty in December of firing a gun at her neighbor and stepson.  However, she was found guilty of endangering the welfare of children.
