SHAMOKIN – Three people were injured in a crash Sunday afternoon when a car crashed into the side of a pizza shop in Shamokin. The News Item reports 55-year-old Jose Santiago, who lives in an apartment above Doogie’s Pizzeria, was turning left off Bear Valley Avenue onto Montgomery Street when his foot slipped off the brake.
Police say Santiago’s vehicle accelerated, jumped a curb and struck the side of the building. Santiago and two passengers from Allentown were taken to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, where they were treated for various injuries and released. The building was not seriously damaged.
