Candidate for Congress is pleased with his live debate performance

molesevichSUNBURY — The Democrat running against incumbent Congressman Tom Marino (R-10th, Cogan Station) is pleased with his debate performance on WVIA-TV this week.

Mike Molesevich was a call-in guest on WKOK’s On The Mark program this week and compared his demeanor to his opponent’s, “I stayed cool, calm and collected and my opponent got a little rattled and very defensive.  I was just bringing simple, calm and moderate suggestions on policy.  I stayed within reason on simple suggestions, whether it was finance reform, gerrymandering and on immigration, which was the first thing he got extremely defense on.”

Molesevich reinforced his primary focus will be on climate change if elected, “Mr. Marino was one of many Republican congressional representatives who deny science and deny climate change.  I wish I would have had the opportunity to remind him that his constituents…there are many constituents up in Sullivan County that do not have homes after we saw one of the most extreme examples of climate change, with the flooding in Northern Lycoming County and Sullivan County.”

He also talked about the importance of renewable energy, “There are now more jobs worldwide and in the US in renewable energy and solar installation and wind installation than in the oil industry.  There is also more installed renewable electrical capacity worldwide than installed coal capacity for electrical generation right now.”

You can listen to the entire interview with Mike Molesevich on WKOK’s On The Mark program online at www.wkok.com.  His opponent Tom Marino will be a guest on the On The Mark program Monday at 8:30 a.m.  (Ali Stevens)
