SUNBURY — Several Bucknellians are lending a hand to Valley organizations while completing a class project. Students from Management 101 are hosting Company A’s Color Run this Sunday. All of the proceeds from the run will go to funding the assembly of food baskets for the Union Snyder Community Action Agency and stocking the pantry at Dinner by the River.
Kelly Clark, Vice President of the Service Division, says the course is an opportunity to get hands-on experience in business management, “Essentially, it’s just a group of students who work together towards creating a company. It establishes the idea of running a service project while also getting funds raised by a business product. It’s a really great way to look into the professional world.”
Clark talks about Sunday’s color run and activities, “We’ll be hosting a 1.1 mile color run around Bucknell campus where participants can come to either walk or run and there will be other activities if you can’t participate in the race. You can play cornhole, we will have frisbee, and much more.”
Clark says it has been a learning experience for everyone in their company, “You learn how to communicate with individuals as well as work with a team of students to bind together. We work towards a service project which at the end of it, is a very rewarding experience.”
Company A’s Color Run will take place this Sunday at 10:30 a.m at the science quad on the Bucknell campus. Registration is $10 and donations are welcome. Kelly Clark and Lauren Repke were recent guests on WKOK Sunrise. You can listen to their full interview online at wkok.com.
