LEWISBURG – A Valley professor is now an author. Bucknell English professor Virginia Zimmerman is debuting her new book, “The Rosemary Spell.” It is a young adult book that is part mystery, part-literay puzzle, and a part-life and death quest.

Zimmerman gives more details about the book, “It’s a story about two kids, Rosemary and Adam, and they find an ancient book in a lost cupboard, and eventually they discover a poem in the book that turns out to be a magic spell, and they accidentally invoke the magic and then have to scramble to figure out how to undo it before something truly dreadful happens.”

Zimmerman says the book idea came from the comforts of home, “In my old house there is in fact a cupboard that was locked that we couldn’t get open, and we spent a lot time trying to get it open and imagining what might be inside. And of course, it turned out there was nothing in the cupboard but I like to say that “The Rosemary Spell” came out of the cupboard, so in fact there was magic in there in the end.”
