Bucknell Celebrates 45 Years of Experiential Business Course

LEWISBURG — Bucknell University’s Freeman College of Management is celebrating 45 years of its signature Management 101 course, a hands-on learning experience where students create real companies and partners with local nonprofits.

The course began as a lecture series but evolved into a dynamic, service-based business lab. Students design, market, and sell products to support community service projects. Faculty say the program builds leadership, adaptability, and teamwork.

Alumni credit the course with shaping their careers, including one who now leads a national apparel brand. Bucknell says the course remains a foundation for developing socially conscious, entrepreneurial leaders.
