Brandon Kramm Memorial Golf Tournament brings NFL QB to town

LEWISBURG — One of the New York Jets NFL team members was in our Valley for a fundraiser Friday. Ryan Fitzpatrick, a quarterback for the Jets played in a fundraiser for the Green Dragon Foundation. Held at the Bucknell Golf Club Friday, the 2nd Annual Brandon Kramm Memorial Golf Tournament raised funds for a scholarship fund as well as an endowment established in Kramm’s name.

Brandon Kramm was a Lewisburg High School graduate who died in 2013 from a rare liver disease. Fitzpatrick was Brandon Kramm’s roommate at Harvard, and he told WKOK, it’s important to take time out to remember his best friend, “This is a really important day for his family, and I think this is helpful. It’s helpful every year to do something in his honor and to raise some funds and continue to honor his name with a scholarship.”

Fitzpatrick says Kramm represented integrity, loyalty and selflessness, “Just an unbelievable guy, great character. Anytime you needed a favor, anytime you needed anything, he was the guy to go to because he was so selfless.”

The Green Dragon Foundation administers both the Kramm scholarship and endowment. Ann Glock, executive director of the foundation says the golf tournament helps fund both, “This year they’re splitting the funds between the scholarship and there was an endowment created at the Green Dragon Foundation called the Brandon Kramm Memorial Endowment. The funds annually will help fund athletic facilities and programs at the Lewisburg Area School District.”

As a student at Lewisburg, Brandon Kramm received multiple awards for scholarship and was a first team “All District” athlete in three sports.
