MILTON — A Milton man will be honored with the Distinguished Citizen Award from the Susquehanna Council of the Boy Scouts of America. John Meckley will be presented with the award at a reception on November 10th at Fero Winery near Lewisburg.
Meckley is an Eagle Scout and also a past president of the Susquehanna Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He currently serves on their board of directors and has earned the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver Award from the Susquehanna Council.
Meckley also serves as the President of the Milton Historical Society, Chairman of the Milton Panther Education Foundation, Vice Chair of the Board for Evangelical Community Hospital and is a board member of the Milton Alumni Association.
