Body of Missing Girl Recovered From Susquehanna River

 

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT — Sad news out of Lycoming County, the body of 10-year-old Claue Schreffler-Algofera has been found. According to the South Williamsport Fire Company, Claue’s body was recovered nearly two weeks after she was swept into the Susquehanna River on May 4.

She had been playing near the Hepburn Street Dam when she was pulled into the water. Her mother, who tried to save her, was also swept over the dam but survived.  Fire officials say the water rescue effort is now closed. They thanked all involved and asked for continued prayers for Claue’s family and the responders.
