SUNBURY – Emergency crews were called out this morning for a report of an unoccupied boat floating on the Susquehanna River near Sunbury. George Geise, Point Township assistant fire chief, tells us the boat was floating between Packer Island and Northumberland and came to rest against a pier.
Upper Augusta Township volunteer fire department arrived just before 7 a.m. and the boat was towed to the marina. The boat had slipped away from a dock at a campsite on Packer Island. (Ali Stevens)
