Lewisburg approves $400,000 in Lewisburg HS changes

DrDiRoccoChangeOrderLEWISBURG- More change orders for the new Lewisburg area high school were approved at last night’s school board meeting. The change orders include both, credits of approximately $23,191, as well as cost increases totaling $35,596. The largest item approved at $47,374 was for additional work around the high school turf field.

Administrative Director John Fairchild explained that the original plan for the field was changed, “Originally the plan called for a grass field at that location.”  Fairchild also cited the need for additional work in light of the change, “There were engineering changes. There’s going to be more run off and so they had to make adjustments to the catch basin that was there. We updated the paths from the high school and from the parking lot to the turf field.”

Last night’s approved change orders brings the total cost of change orders to approximately $400,000 out of the district’s $590,000 contingency account. (Ashley Thomas)
