BLOOMSBURG – Details are out on a Columbia County death and a state police standoff Monday morning. Turns out a Columbia County man is dead after the incident at a home in Beaver Township, Columbia County.
Bloomsburg state police tell us 20-year-old Gage Moyer, who lived at the home where the incident occurred, died at the home at 9:15 a.m. Columbia County Coroner Jeremy Reese says Moyer committed suicide. There will be no autopsy.
Bloomsburg troopers say the were first dispatched to the home just before 1 a.m. Monday. Upon arrival they say there was evidence a gunman was barricaded inside the home on Beaver Valley Road. A state police SERT then entered the home just after 8 a.m. and discovered Moyer’s body.
There was no school Monday at the Bloomsburg Area School District’s Beaver Main Elementary School, after extensive police activity near the school Monday morning.
