BLOOMSBURG – A teenager from Bloomsburg died in a tragic motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon. State troopers say 19-year-old Robert Halye was riding on Route 339 in Main Township, Columbia County, around 4pm, when he lost control of the cycle on a curve.
His motorcycle collided with an oncoming car. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers noted he was wearing a helmet at the time. They say speed was a factor in the crash.
No other injuries were reported. First responders included state police, Main Township Volunteer Fire Company, and the Columbia County Coroner’s office. The road was closed for several hours.
