Big Ten Network dropped from local cable

secv FEATPOINT TOWNSHIP – Big Ten fans are going to be in the dark when it comes to watching their teams play on television. As of September 1, Service Electric Cablevision is no longer carrying the Big Ten Network.

According to SECV, they were unable to reach a new contract agreement with Fox to carry the Big Ten Network. SECV says the fee increase would be cost prohibitive to customers and their offers to carry BTN on a sports tier or as an a la carte option  were rejected.

Dwight Walter, general manager at SECV says they want a fair and equitable agreement, but there are “significant gaps” in the negotiations. No word when the Big Ten Network might return to the SECV lineup.
