SELINSGROVE – Multiple fire companies were called to a building fire at an auto repair garage in Penn Township this morning. The fire started around 11:15 a.m. along Route 522 at Goldschmidt Auto Body, near the Pepper Tree Restaurant. Heavy smoke was showing when volunteer firefighters arrived on the scene.
Don Weirick, chief of Dauntless Hook and Ladder says they believe the fire started in a vehicle inside the garage, “When we got here, the place was locked up tight and we had to make entry into the business.”
The building was heavily damaged by the fire and Chief Weirick says the investigation will continue in to the cause of the blaze. Middleburg, Selinsgrove, Shamokin Dam, Hummels Wharf, Kreamer and Kratzerville were all on the scene. No injuries were reported. (Ali Stevens/Jennifer Wakeman)
