Attorney bows out on Dylan Lahr appeal

dylanLEWISBURG – The attorney who represented one of the four rock-throwing suspects in Union County has withdrawn as his counsel after he filed his own appeal.  Bellefonte Lawyer Brian Manchester tells PennLive.com that there is nothing more he can do in the Dylan Lahr case and filed a motion with the state Superior Court to withdraw as counsel for Lahr.

On October 13, Dylan Lahr filed notice with the appellate court that he was appealing the state prison sentence of 54 months to 24 years.  He was sentenced by Judge Mike Sholley on September 3 for his role in throwing a rock from an I-80 overpass, critically injuring Sharon Budd of Ohio.

Lahr received the harshest sentence of the four suspect, which also included Tyler Porter, Keefer McGee and his brother Brett Lahr.  Dylan Lahr pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault.  District Attorney Pete Johnson said Dylan Lahr was the one who actually threw the rock.

All of the men are serving state prison terms in connection with the incident in July 2014.  Lahr has been told by Sholley that he must detail reasons for his appeal.  (Ali Stevens)
