SELINSGROVE – Selinsgrove police are investigating a home invasion and armed robbery at a home on West Chestnut Street early this morning. Police tell us two suspects forced their way into the home through a rear door, encountering five men and two women inside the home.
One suspect was armed with a .38 caliber rifle and the other had a short blade folding knife. They robbed the people inside the home and while one of the suspects was distracted, a resident was able to grab the gun, but was then struck by the suspect. A fight broke out and the suspects fled the residence onto West Chestnut Street, leaving the stolen items behind.
The suspects are described as two black males in their early 20’s, both with a thin build. One was swearing a black watch cap, black bandana over his face and black sports pants with a black/blue and grey camouflaged sports jacket.
The other was wearing a black watch cap, red bandana over his face with a green sports jacket with a red stripe and black sports pants. The gun was recovered at the scene.
