DANVILLE — A police officer in Mahoning Township has been suspended a week after another officer was fired. Township officials say Charles Diettrick was suspended last week, pending the outcome of an investigation, but it’s not known was prompted the suspension.
Diettrick is the latest officer to be reprimanded in Mahoning Township. The supervisors recently fired Patrolman Jonathan Yaskiewicz. Supervisors voted 3 to 0 on November 14 to fire Yaskiewicz, but did not disclose details of the investigation that led to his termination.
Mahoning Township continues to look for a police chief following the firing of Chad Thomas, who pleaded guilty in May to possession of a chemical solvent. The department now has four full-time officers.
