SUNBURY – The chief of adult probation in Northumberland County is out of a job. President Judge Charles Saylor said Wednesday Jim Cortelyou was terminated after discrepancies were found in receipts for funds received from criminal defendants.
Saylor said Cortelyou did not follow protocols for proper accounting of funds and a full investigation and audit of the adult probation department has been ordered. No other employees in the department have been suspended or terminated as a result.
In January, Saylor terminated William Rossnock, deputy chief of juvenile probation.
