Angela Lansbury speaks at Susquehanna University

FB_IMG_1458130599946SELINSGROVE – Angela Lansbury, legendary actress of stage and screen, spoke to a sold-out house at Susquehanna University Tuesday night. Lansbury, whose career spanned decades, talked about her early years in the theatre, “I was also given a God-given talent and when you have that, you have to care for it, look after it, nurture it and use it. Don’t just sit on there without doing anything.”

Lansbury is most widely known for her role as Jessica Fletcher on the hit tv series, Murder, She Wrote, “This one piece of material that came onto my desk, as they say, turned out to be Murder, She Wrote. I kind of liked the idea because I read Agatha Christie as a child, read all of the Agatha Christie books.”

Murder, She Wrote ran for twelve seasons with Lansbury serving as executive producer for six years. Lansbury has received five Tony Awards, six Golden Globes and 18 Emmy nominations. She has also been the recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors and an Oscar for lifetime achievement. (Jennifer Wakeman)
