An update on the ‘casting crew’ suspicions locally

BLOOMSBURG — A pair of women claiming to be talent scouts for a movie production were recently spotted in Bloomsburg and now officials are confirming that it is a legitimate operation. Not only in person, but telephonically, police say the story checks out.

In Bloomsburg, The Press-Enterprise says the police chief is satisfied after investigating that the women were who they said they were. As flyers were handed out, many were concerned that it was a scam or an attempt to lure women. Instead, it was “street casting” being done by a talent group looking for new talent for a film about two small town Pennsylvania girls.

Locally, other facilities were contacted by the group and authorities say the New York casting group is legitimate and is seeking local actors for an upcoming movie, some of which will be filmed in our Valley.
