DANVILLE – In Danville, an Americus ambulance was stolen and significantly damaged earlier this morning. Americus President Jerome Alex tells WKOK the incident occurred this morning about 10:30.
He says a crew had dropped off a patient at Geisinger when someone jumped in the front of the ambulance and stole it; the crew in the back was able to jump out safely.
A short time later, the ambulance was recovered but was heavily damaged in a crash near the CVS store. The suspect was apprehended by Mahoning Township Police.
