SUNBURY  — More trouble for the Northumberland County prothonotary. Justin Dunkelberger’s office is the subject of an investigation by the state attorney general’s office according to a statement released by Northumberland County Commissioner Rick Shoch.

Shoch says he met with representatives from the AG’s office this week and conveyed information shared with him by county employees about matters in the prothonotary’s office. During the meeting, questions were raised about commissioner Vinny Clausi inserting himself into the situation in the prothonotary’s office since he is a well-known supporter of Dunkelberger.

Campaign finance reports obtained by WKOK indicate that Clausi made both cash and in-kind donations to Dunkelberger’s campaign in 2013.

Shoch says no rank-and-file employees in the prothonotary’s office are implicated in any wrongdoing and he expects the attorney general’s office to determine if further investigation is warranted. (Jennifer Wakeman)
