ADA appealing decision to suppress evidence

court-hammer-gavel1-293x220SUNBURY – The Assistant District Attorney for Northumberland County is appealing a decision to suppress evidence in an attempted homicide case.  Michael Toomey is appealing the decision by county Judge Paige Rosini to suppress what he says is key evidence in the case against Bob Snyder Jr. of Sunbury.

Rosini signed an order to suppress a video recording of Snyder talking with police about threatening his wife.  Toomey says the judge’s ruling has handicapped the prosecution’s case.  Rosini said Snyder had requested multiple times to speak to an attorney.

Snyder remains free on $1 nominal bail under the state’s speedy trial rule.  He faces charges including attempted homicide and aggravated assault.  On February 5 of 2015, police say he pointed a gun at his wife and threatened to shoot her at their home on Packer Island.
