STATE COLLEGE – The current weather pattern in the northeast US will bring rain by the inches to parts of Pennsylvania and neighboring states. Rain gauge measurements more than five inches are expected by week’s end, and in The Valley, that will mean some minor flooding is possible.
In our area overnight, one to three inches of rain was measured at various locations. The river is at normal levels, about seven feet at Sunbury. The National Weather Service say it may rise to 13 feet by mid-week. The Penns Creek gauge was at two feet on Saturday and is rising to a forecast seven foot level later this week.
