DANVILLE — A Brooklyn man accused of selling heroin to buyers in Northumberland and Montour Counties is out of jail after posting $1 in bail. 39-year-old Pedro Acosta was freed after the state attorney general’s office failed to bring him to trial within 180 days.
Acosta was arrested along with 39 others in a September drug sweep. Acosta allegedly sold two kilos of heroin from 2008 to 2014. Acosta was sent to Montour County Jail on $500,000 bail. Due to the 180-day rule, he was released Wednesday. Acosta is expected to appear in Montour County Court in June. (Codi Jade)
