SUNBURY – An accident closed Route 61just south of Sunbury for about an hour Wednesday evening. The Daily Item reports 46-year-old Michael Sinko was traveling south on Route 61 when he swerved off the road and hit a parked car. The accident happened around 4:15pm and the roadway was closed for about an hour after the crash.
Sinko was taken to Geisinger Medical Center for suspected minor injuries. Stonington State Police say the accident is under investigation. Shamokin Dam fire and rescue personnel assisted with detouring traffic at the scene.
