LEWISBURG – This year’s Run, Walk Relay for Life in Lewisburg is being held in honor of Brendan Fisher, who died from cancer in 2015. Elena Barrick is a 9th grade student at Lewisburg High School and was friends with Brendan.
Barrick said, “It was very hard for all of us and we wanted to do something where he would know that we all still remember him and we all still really really love him and miss him. So, we decided this would be a good way to remember him and do something for him. Relay for Life, our team is doing the run-walk in his name.”
Lydia Matukaitis, also a freshman, talked about the race being held on June 11 at 8:30 a.m., “There’s a 5K, but there is also a fun run, which is a mile on the track afterwards, so that the kids, or anyone who doesn’t want to run a 5K, but still wants to make a contribution, can still run. If you register before May 25, you can get a t-shirt.”
