HARRISBURG — Some local lawmakers gathered at the state Capitol to highlight healthier eating and nutrition education for Pennsylvania families. The event marked the kickoff of the “Eat Real Food” tour.
Local state house members David Rowe, Robert Leadbeter and Jamie Flick joined Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Kennedy spoke about the harm of highly processed foods on children’s health. Kennedy highlighted links to diabetes, obesity, and other long-term health concerns.
Rep. Flick says promoting access to fresh, nutritious food supports families and Pennsylvania agriculture. He also points to legislation giving schools flexibility to offer whole milk and other options benefiting students and dairy farmers.
