SELINSGROVE – A local police department is working to help keep our children safe around a school bus. Shamokin Dam police chief Tim Bremigen and his officer Jacob Shipman, participated in the 28th annual “Operation Safe Stop” on Wednesday morning.
The event was co-sponsored by the Highway Safety Network and PennDOT. Partnering with the Selinsgrove School District and their bus system, Officer Shipman rode along, greeting children with early Halloween treats as they boarded the bus.
Chief Bremigen followed behind, monitoring for any violations of school bus safety laws. The department is pleased to report no violations were found. They remind the community to stay vigilant about the safety of children at bus stops and wish everyone a safe holiday season.
