PACKER ISLAND – A teacher strike at the Shikellamy School District has been averted after the Shikellamy Education Association and the school board reached a tentative agreement. The SEA announced on Monday that the strike, which had been scheduled, is now canceled.
In a social media post Monday night, the SEA said, “The representatives of the Shikellamy School Board and the Shikellamy Education Association are pleased to announce a tentative agreement.
Therefore, the SEA teacher strike has been cancelled. Both the teachers and the school board intend to ratify the tentative agreement no later than Thursday, October 10, 2024.”
