Northumberland police have a new app, and it allows the public to interact with officers and send information to them, and receive information from police. The borough police say it’s simple, it’s a new tool for keeping Northumberland safe, promoting safety and increasing awareness.
Police chief Cliff Kriner is encouraging businesses, churches, educators and organizations in Northumberland to distribute and display fliers about the app, help share the news about the new technology.
Chief Kriner said, “It’s a cutting-edge tool that fosters a safer community. This app allows citizens to send confidential tips directly to our department, request vacation checks for their properties and learn about all the services offered by the Northumberland Police Department.”
Additionally, citizens in Northumberland can receive real-time alerts and updates directly from police and borough leaders, “Together, we can create a network of informed, vigilant, and proactive citizens, Kriner said.
