WILLIAMSPORT – Pennsylvania’s natural gas impact fee is now being distributed to local counties.  The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has allocated funds as follows: Bradford County will receive $4.3 million, Lycoming County will get $2.8 million, and Sullivan County will receive just under half a million dollars.

Union County is set to receive $31,000, according to State Senator Gene Yaw. He emphasized, “By every measure, natural gas benefits all Pennsylvanians, supporting state agencies and services provided by counties, townships, and boroughs across the Commonwealth.”

Sen. Yaw highlighted the impact of the fee, stating, “The Impact Fee has generated more than $2.7 billion in tax revenue to support county and local governments. The natural gas industry has played a pivotal role in creating new jobs and opportunities, and today’s announcement underscores the industry’s importance in Pennsylvania.”
