LEWISBURG –In Lewisburg, a hit and run truck driver struck and destroyed one of the iconic cast iron light poles, and decorative street lights over the weekend. It happened last Saturday; the downed light standard was at the foot of the Lewisburg Bridge at Water Streets. The borough posted pictures on their Facebook page recently.
The borough says it was, “hit with such force that the concrete base in the ground shifted and nothing of the light fixture itself, the three globes, or the decorative planting basket was salvageable.” They say the suspect vehicle is probably a truck of some sort. Anyone with information is asked to contact the borough office.
