UNDATED – Someone is going to make a joke about ‘failed new year’s resolutions’ but no one was laughing Monday when they Sunbury YMCA, and then a fitness business in Shamokin Dam, both closed because of threats. In Sunbury, the Y shutdown around 5pm because of an unspecified threat.
Shamokin Dam police chief Travis Bremigen said they were dispatched to the area of Baldwin Boulevard and investigated a threat to the community. He said in a statement, “Officers took measures to safeguard the public and there was no harm to anyone. No further information is being provided. SDPD’s investigation is continuing.”
