Victoria Rosancrans Trying for Council Election Again
SUNBURY – Victoria Rosancrans is hoping the third time’s the charm running for Sunbury City Council.
This spring she is the lone Democratic candidate for council in next Tuesday’s spring primary, “Some of the things that I am involved with already is economic development, public safety, redevelopment and attracting new businesses and maintaining our businesses in the city.”
Rosancrans says one idea to continue economic growth and revitalizing downtown Sunbury is to have the city become a ‘certified city,’ “And we meet most of those criteria. We’d have to do some work in other areas, but there are levels of becoming a Certified City. But once you are a Certified City, that opens up the door to more grants and things like that for businesses that are in our city.”
Rosancrans also hopes to help market the city. Right now, she’s working on that initiative with her highly successful ‘Stay Sunbury Informed and Beyond’ Facebook Page, “I did that during COVID to help the businesses. So many people say, ‘Oh my gosh, I didn’t know that was here.’ So we’ve brought light to those businesses in Sunbury and then I realized we have so much in this Valley that we could help people learn and get out there.”
Rosancrans is also asking Republican voters to vote for her as a write in candidate against two other Republican candidates on the ballot. She hopes that will also help put her over the top to earn a council seat, saying she’s gained bipartisan support lately.
