SHAMOKIN – Volunteers in Shamokin responded to a fire where one person had to be rescued Monday morning. The fire broke out around 4am on East Commerce Street. Northumberland County Communications tells us, the person was successfully rescued and treated at the scene.
The house was heavily damaged; first responders saw flames shooting through the roof.
Northumberland County Communications dispatched crews from Shamokin, Coal Township, Kulpmont, Elysburg, Overlook, and Sunbury’s ladder truck. Elysburg and Area Services EMS were called to the scene. The Red Cross also responded.
No other details out yet on that fire early Monday morning in Shamokin.
