SUNBURY – Sunbury River Festival is back this weekend. Festivities kick off this afternoon at 4 p.m., with a Grease moving sing-along Friday night. Slade Shreck is River Festival Co-Chair, “We have a big, huge screen we’re gonna put up, and everybody can come sing along and bring their kids. It’ll be a great evening.”
River Festival continues Saturday starting at 10 a.m., highlighted by the annual car show at 9 a.m., “Market Street will be closed, and basically from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. will be the car show. As a matter of fact, we’ve had so many pre-entries, it’s crazy.”
Shreck says there will also be vendors on both sides of the river wall, with a record amount of vendor entries for this year’s River Festival. Saturday night will also feature fireworks, along with live music all weekend. There’s also a new rock climbing wall at this year’s festival.
The festival theme for 2022 is Art Comes Alive, showcasing local and regional artists.
