Upcoming Traffic Delays Possible in Northumberland, Columbia Counties

THE VALLEY – PennDOT recently announced a few more road projects in The Valley this coming week, two in Columbia County and one in Northumberland.

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY:

Starting Sunday, overnight crews will restrict lanes on Route 54 between Ralpho and Mount Carmel townships, with a work schedule of 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. PennDOT said the microsurfacing project may last until September.

COLUMBIA COUNTY:

PennDOT said another overnight project beginning Sunday happens on I-80 between mile markers 236 and 241. PennDOT said paving improvements will cause lane restrictions from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and the project should be finished by Friday morning.

Monday will see bridge work along Lows Road between Route 11 and Hidlay Church Road. PennDOT said repairs to the bridge carrying Route 80 over the roadway will lead to a detour involving Horse Farm Road, Sawmill Road, Route 487 and North Central Road. They said the project is expected to be completed in October.

PennDOT also said Shaffer Road is now open between Sawmill Road and Route 11.
