Sunbury Celebrating Christmas in July
SUNBURY – Santa is bringing real reindeer with him to Cameron Park in Sunbury this Saturday for Christmas in July.
Sunbury’s Litefest Committee is hosting the vendor and craft show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Victoria Rosancrans, the co-chair of the committee says there will be a raffle, with one prize, a chance for you to have professional photos taken with Santa and his reindeer.
“We have real reindeer coming, and the grant prize is: you will be able to win to go inside that gated area, and be able to pet the reindeer, and get pictures with the reindeer. But also, we are going to take one of those reindeer, walk it inside the Santa Cottage, and they will get a professional photo session with the deer, their family, Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the head elf,” she said.
The raffle will also be offering a birthday rental worth almost $200, gift baskets, gift cards, and a $50 cash prize. Other activities Saturday include the ‘Touch A Truck’ from 9am-12pm, and much more, “Seventy plus vendors, lots of food, lots of crafts, and lots of things for kids to do. We have a petting zoo, too, can’t forget that, our happy farms will be there as well.”
Santa will be arriving at noon and free children’s books from the Santa’s Gift of Reading program.
As for helping out with Litefest at Christmas, Rosancrans says volunteers of any age are needed, “We absolutely need volunteers for Litefest–we need not only adults, but we need children. I want to grow the Santa parade; I want to see children in the parade. So, yes, we want to start them young, and mentor them and get them involved in the community.”
