Big Weekend of Festivities at Sunbury Celebration
SUNBURY – This year’s Sunbury Celebration is underway, culminating with a full day of fun and fireworks Saturday.
Ron Pratt is the Director of Operations for the Sunbury Pool and Playgrounds, “Not only do we have crafters, but we have food vendors. We also have the Sunbury Youth Baseball Tournament. We’ve got spin art, we’ve got the (Shikellamy) Cheerleaders doing the dunk tank, we have the petting zoo, and we have Memory Lane performing that night. All we ask is please, please, please, please, donate.”
Pratt says donations are needed not only for the fireworks, but all those giving their time.
Pratt says the idea of fireworks and Sunbury Celebration events the last 18 years have always been about the kids, “This is family oriented, it’s family centered, and the fireworks are the extravaganza to the whole thing.”
The fireworks display is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. and remember to bring a sound device to listen to the soundtrack on sister station 94KX.
Friday night, Sunbury Celebration is hosting free swimming and hot dogs while supplies last at the Sunbury Pool from 7:10-9:15 p.m.
