MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP – A 71-year-old Mount Carmel man was flown to the hospital Sunday evening following a two-vehicle crash on state Route 54 on the Natalie Mountain. The borough man, whose name was withheld, was traveling eastbound toward Natalie shortly after 6 p.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle.
Authorities say he traveled into the westbound lane and struck a vehicle driven by 74-year-old RoseAnn Stuart. Stuart was injured and the motorcyclist was critically injured. Crews from Area Services transported the motorcyclist to the Marion Heights baseball field, where a Geisinger Life Flight helicopter crews treated him before flying to the hospital.
