I-80 Crash Has Woman in Critical Condition
DANVILLE – An Ohio woman is in critical condition after crashing in a small SUV along I-80 Monday…the woman a one-year-old child in the back seat who was not injured.
Milton state police say injured was 26-year-old Francesca Thompson of Mentor, Ohio. She was taken to Geisinger and is listed in critical condition. Trooper say she was not wearing a seatbelt.
A medical update on the male child is unavailable, but troopers say he suffered a suspected minor injury and was in a rear-facing child safety seat.
Troopers say another adult was also in the car at the time, but was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt.
Troopers say the crash occurred around 8:45 a.m. Monday along I-80 at mile marker 224 in Valley Township, Montour County. That’s when troopers say Thompson lost control of her vehicle in the left lane, crashing into a concrete barrier, traveled across both lanes of the highway and into a guide rail.
Troopers say she was charged with a traffic violation.
