Sunbury River Festival Reveals This Year’s Theme
SUNBURY – Sunbury River Festival has announced this year’s theme and they are looking for more artists to participate.
Sunbury Revitalization Incorporated says the theme is ‘Art Comes Alive,’ as a way to highlight and help the growing art community in Sunbury and the Greater Susquehanna Valley. This year’s River Festival is scheduled for August 19 and 20.
Organizers say artists and creatives interested in being part of the festival need to submit an application by July 31. They can be either looking to give a participatory or learning experience to festival visitors, or would like to set up vendor space to sell or showcase creations.
Organizers say there will also be special collaborations with the YMCA Art Center and local artist MARS Creates.
This year’s festival will include plenty of craft and food vendors, as well as the annual Car Cruise, VanGo! Museum on Wheels, Clyde Peelings Reptile Land Exhibit, a ‘Grease’ movie sing-along, and a performance by the band ‘Root Shock’.
‘The Valley’s Got Talent’ auditions will be held July 27 and 28 with a $700 grand prize.
