DANVILLE — A work session on Monday sought alternatives to a big tax hike in the Danville School District. The Press-Enterprise reports, little was accomplished in that regard.
Observers say the district seems headed for a 4% increase in property taxes for next year. That’s despite efforts to take money from savings to offset the hike.
If the spending plan is finalized without further reductions, the tax increase for Northumberland County property taxpayers in the Danville district would be $239 annually. The average Montour County taxpayer would see an annual tax increase of $47.
