Organizations Listen to Northumberland County Residents for Change

SUNBURY – What does Northumberland County want and need in the future, and how can we accomplish goals…those are the questions for this week’s Northumberland County Summit. Bucknell University and the Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way will be hosting this event for everyone to join together and voice their opinions.

Karen Leonovich, Director of Northumberland County Area Agency on Aging/Veterans Affairs department tells us, everyone is welcome to attend the 2022 Summit. A wide range of participants and the public will discuss community change, appreciating the strengths and resiliency they have acquired over the years, and set some workable goals, “The Summit will be held this Friday, May 6, starts at 9 o’clock in the morning. It will be an all day Summit, highlighting the concerns of Northumberland Country; our strengths, our gaps, and some areas we would like to work on in the future.”

Sarah Farbo, Bucknell University’s Assistant Director, Community Based and Engaged, Service Learning, “We really want to listen and learn together and think about how we can have that collective impact and work together for the betterment. Really focus on that asset based approach, like of course we have gaps but really thinking about, ‘What are we good at and how do we build on that?'”
