Snyder County Farm Receiving Preservation Grant
HARRISBURG – A Valley farm is one of 40 in the state to receive preservation funding. The state DEP announced Thursday it’s awarding over $136,000 state dollars to The Randall J. Kratzer and Jamie Ray Farm #3, which is a 50-acre crop farm.
The DEP says it’s investing more than $9.7 million in state and county dollars in preserving farmland for tomorrow. The DEP says by selling their land’s development rights, landowners preserve their farms, protecting the land from future residential, commercial or industrial development.
